No, money doesn't buy happiness. But it can buy comfort and experiences that can make you happy. As an entrepreneur, you know you've made it when you make your first million dollars. And it's something to be extremely proud of. But for those of you who haven't made it there yet, what are some of the habits you can form to help you get there? James Altucher argues that there are 20 of them... Take a look.

1. Being able to say "No"

Ahhh, this is a skill. I spent 21 years of my life as a pushover and it got me nowhere. Just say no, especially when your gut tells you to. You'll feel better about more of your decisions when you do.

2. LOVE

The reason we live. Make sure you have it in your life or whatever you achieve will mean nothing.

3. Embracing your mistakes

Mistakes are the stepping stones to success. Use them, learn from them and don't make the same one twice (because then you just look silly).

4. Plant seeds

The more seeds you plant, the more flowers you'll grow. Be sure to nurture your ideas, spread them wisely and nurture them to their full potential.

5. Surround yourself with people who love you

Going back to number two - Love is the reason we live. If you're surrounded by negative energy, you're more likely to be unhappy and have a negative demeanor. Like attracts like, so become a beacon of positivity and good things will start coming back to you.

6. Always be next to the smartest person in the room

When you're the least experienced or least knowledgeable person in the room you're in a great position to learn and grow. Find out where the superstars in your industry hang out and find a way to meet them there.

7. No excuses

Self explanatory. Take accountability for your actions and your mistakes. People will respect you for it.

8. Don't rush

Nothing good ever comes easy. Do you want 15 minutes of fame or a successful, long lasting career? The choice is yours.

9. Solve your gratitude problems

Always be thankful for what you have while working towards what you want. If you aren't happy now, you won't be happy later (you might have more to distract you, but fancy things won't make you truly happy).

10. The 5/25 rule via Warren Buffett

Write a list of 25 things you want to do before you die. Put a box around the top 5 and do them. Forget the rest.

11. Write down 10 ideas a day

Do this for 6 months and see what happens. You'll be more productive and organized and probably more confident.

12. Follow up

Send an email, text message or if you're bold, pick up the phone and talk to the person. Follow up is one of the most important skills you can have as a creative entrepreneur. With so much going on in your life, it's crucial to showing a potential client or partner that you value their time and efforts.

13. Ask questions

How else are you going to learn? Stay curious and you'll never be dull.

14. 1% a day

If you want to get better at something, do 1% per day. Thinking small is the only way to think big. If you're constantly thinking about the big picture and not the baby steps that will carry you to the finale, you won't accomplish anything.

15. Right now

Focus on this moment. Right here, right now. Be present. The past is gone so let it be. Put your energy into your future.

16. Sleep

This is the hardest thing for me. I'm a night owl and my creativity peaks between the hours of 11pm and 4am. But when I stay up that late for more than a few days in a row, I start to burn out which isn't good for my creative juices or my health (which brings us to the next point)...

17. Every day, avoid death

Eat healthy, drink enough water, get active, wear your seatbelt, put on sunscreen. Common sense. Take the necessary steps to protect yourself.

18. Do one thing every day you love

Again, love is what we live for. If you aren't doing something you love every single day, you're wasting your life.

The End

You're probably thinking 'what the hell?'! Yes, there are only 18 on the list. Why? Because the secret to success is giving yourself permission to sometimes be wrong.

Keep hustling, my friends...
